  1. 1. Take classes

There are more options than ever from May through August on campus. Summertime on campus can be beautiful, and there are some perks, too. Courses are often shorter — think 1 to 6 weeks versus a 13-week course — and classes can be smaller, giving you more time with your prof. Take an elective, tackle a harder course, or just make your course load lighter in future semesters.

  2. 2. Make money

You might need to make money this summer by getting a summer job. Those study snacks aren't going to pay for themselves! Sneak in a course or two with flexible delivery modes like online or live-streamed courses.

  3. 3. Go back home

Fall and winter may be time for school, while summertime is for family, friends and all the familiarity of home. Find a college or university close to home that offers the courses you need and transfer them to your home institution. Enjoy your time off, and knock a course or two off your list.

  4. 4. See the world

Summer is the perfect time for all kinds of travel, whether it's solo, with friends, close to home or international. Take advantage of the fabulous weather while online courses keep your mind sharp and help you earn your credential sooner. Picture it — an online art course from Paris!

  5. 5. Take it easy

As a student, you may have the luxury of relaxing this summer before you get going on that big career! If so, take it easy, but don't waste a great opportunity. With evening, online, and blended options, and so many interesting courses offered only in the summer, you can have lazy summer days and be productive too!

No matter what you have lined up for the summer, it's a great time to catch up or get ahead and have an epic summer at the same time!
